The Designer

Frederico Azevedo

Award-winning Landscape Designer

Born in Porto Alegre, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil in 1962, Azevedo has studied landscape design in Brazil, England, and the U.S.

Azevedo founded his firm, Unlimited Earth Care, in Bridgehampton in 1993. He is a member of the Association of Professional Landscape Designers, the American Horticultural Society, and the Horticultural Alliance of the Hamptons.

Frederico Azevedo has been designing in the Hamptons for thirty years and has a deep understanding of its diverse and sensitive environments. Azevedo’s gardens integrate the natural features of the landscape into a comprehensive and intentional landscape design. His sustainable approach using native and well-adapted plants and flowers creates unique landscapes that transform plain lawns into active spaces with rich color palettes.

Azevedo’s designs are known for their color, which is heightened through his signature curving floral borders, flowering meadows, and lush all-green gardens. Azevedo’s designs interact with the existing space: long flower beds reflect and soften the geometry of pools, and waterfronts are framed with masses of flowers of the same species and hue. Combining the elements of natural design—repetition of color, texture and form—he imbues his gardens with balance and a simple elegance.
